Nepal’s new pro wrestling company launches with two events in first week

Nepal’s newest pro wrestling promotion, aptly named Pro Wrestling Association, kicked off operations with a busy week. The new company ran two live shows, one on Tuesday, September 26th, 2022 in Dholakha and the other on Friday September 30th in Sano Gaucharan.

We’ve been able to round up some photos and videos of the Dholakha event and thanks to the videos we can share some results.

In women’s action, Asmita Jureli of Nepal faced off with India’s Simran. This match appears to end in a disqualification victory for Simran after Jureli smashed a fluorescent light tube over her foe’s back. However, BishesNews reported Asmita Jureli as the winner so it’s possible we’re interpreting the finish incorrectly.

Another match that we were able to round some footage up from was a unique triple threat match between Amit “The Assassin” from India, Yeti The Bigfoot and the father of Nepali pro wrestling and a legend in his own right, Himalayan Tiger. This style of triple threat match featured two wrestlers in the ring at once while the third wrestler would wait on the apron for a tag from one of the other competitors for their chance to wrestle. This one had an interesting ending with Yeti socking the referee, Himalayan Tiger seemingly eliminating himself from the match and threatening a ringside worker on his way out, and then Yeti pinning Amit for the win.

There was also a tag team match on the card. Lizard King and “The Combat King” Abhiraj Singh teamed up to take on Amit and Swag. The match went over fifteen minutes and featured some good, old school, classic tag team action. Unfortunately, the videos that we’ve been able to track down don’t show the conclusion of the match.

Sher Khan was in action on this card as well, defending the REW Asian Championship against Nepali Bro. We weren’t able to find the entire match but we do know that Sher Khan went back to Pakistan still reigning as the REW Asian Champ.

Finally, The Yuv wrestled two matches on this card. In one match, he took on Avim from India. In the second bout, he wrestled The Scorpion. In the match against The Scorpion, the Dholakha Championship belt was on the line. According to this report from BishesNews, The Scorpion won the match, becoming the inaugural Dolakha Wrestling Champion. You can check out a bunch of photos from the title match between The Yuv and The Scorpion below.

We haven’t been able to track down much more on the Sano Gaucharan event. As of now, all that we know is that The Yuv and Lizard King wrestled in a pretty wild brawl. Lizard King won the match and appears to have won the Revolution Eastern Wrestling (Pakistan) Undisputed World Championship that had previously belonged to The Yuv. You can see photos from that match and a video of some highlights from the match below.
