All Korea Wrestling launches with inaugural event Seoul Rumble, crowns first champion

A brand new wrestling promotion has kicked things off in South Korea! On August 27th, All Korea Wrestling launched their promotion with Seoul Rumble from All Arena, a boxing gym and arena in South Korea’s capital.

All Korea Wrestling’s establishment and story are both pretty interesting. The promotion is headed up by pro wrestler Bryan Leo, an American based in South Korea. Leo has been wrestling in South Korea since 2015 and was the champion of Pro Wrestling Society, who are also based in South Korea, until leaving the promotion in spring of 2021. AKW was established to bring change to the pro wrestling scene in South Korea with the idea being that wrestlers would no longer be exclusive to promotions in the country. All Korea Wrestling is also reportedly the first wrestling promotion in South Korea to be run by a foreigner, an interesting milestone in the history of South Korean pro wrestling.

AKW used Seoul Rumble as an opportunity to crown their inaugural champion. The card centered around an 8 competitor tournament to find that champion. The tournament field consisted of Bryan Leo, Eun Beyond, Duncan Solaire, Yun Kangchul, General Jun, Kim Mir, Bumsol and Dark Loki. The full results of the event have also made it to Cagematch, which you can check out here. At the end of the night, Bumsol was the last wrestler standing, becoming the first All Korea Wrestling Champion!

AKW originally posted a live stream of the event to their YouTube page but it’s since been taken down. Some footage has also been shared to the All Korea Wrestling Instagram page and some other footage as well as some photos have also made it online. Be sure to give AKW a follow on Instagram and YouTube for more coverage of Seoul Rumble and any other updates about the promotion moving forward.

August 29 Update: the full event video from Seoul Rumble is now available for viewing on Instagram. You can watch it below!
