Results and photos from pro wrestling’s live event return to Karachi, Pakistan in the form of REW WrestleMax

While Revolution Eastern Wrestling has kept busy in the ring outside of Pakistan and has been in the ring in Pakistan on the TV screen, the company hasn’t had an opportunity hold a live event in their home base of Karachi since March of 2021. That all changed this past Saturday as REW presented their first ever WrestleMax from the Atrium Mall.

The crowd at Atrium Mall was treated to ten matches on the night

The card featured ten matches and some important segments that we’ll cover. Here are the results for the night.

-REW Asian champion XMAK vacated/relinquished the REW Asian Championship and announced that he will now be working as a CEO of REW. He announced that he is vacating the championship because he has the big responsibility now to help make REW a bigger promotion. But Traitorx (the faction headed up by Xekay that includes Xekay who is leader, Nawab, Sohail Khilari, Hamza and the recently debuted Sahil G that will be in action in the main event) is standing in the way of XMAK being able to step into his new role. XMAK wants his last job in the ring to be to finish off the heel group Traitorx and to focus on the task at hand, he vacated the championship.

-The owner of Atrium Mall, Mr Tariq Yunus, and Director of Dreamworld Resort, Mr. Jabbar Rathore, presented Jordan Hurr with the newly designed REW World Heavyweight Championship. Jordan Hurr won the title from Gopal Sharma in December in Nepal when Gopal Sharma missed the multinational event organized by the Nepal Women Wrestling Foundation but the new champion was still uncrowned with a title belt until now when he received the newly designed REW World Heavyweight Championship.

Jordan Hurr celebrates with his new REW World Heavyweight Championship in his left hand and his REW Indian and REW Eastern title belts in his right.

-In the first bout of the night, Jordan Hurr defeated Sohail Khilari to defend all three of his titles: the REW World Heavyweight Championship, the REW Indian Championship and the REW Eastern Championship.

-The Kovu Brandon defeated Noor Zai in a No DQ match in Noor Zai’s first action with REW. This match was billed as a Pakistan vs. Afghanistan match as Noor Zai hails from Afghanistan but is currently living and training in Pakistan. There’s certainly something we could be missing but as far as we know, Noor Zai is the first pro wrestler to be born in Afghanistan.

-Yohanna Bhatti made an open challenge to defend his REW Fight Or Die Championship. The challenge was answered by M.H.K who stood up from the audience and made his debut in the ring but lost to Yohanna BhattI.

-Ahmed Boyka defeated Sohail Khilari.

-Talha Ali defeated Black Tiger (This match replaced the previously billed Green Cheetah vs Billu Badmash).

-Jordan Hurr defeated Hawkberg to defend all the three of his championships for the second time of the night, this time in a last man standing match.

-The Kovu Brandon cut a heel promo against the Pakistani Army but was interrupted by former REW Ring of Slam World Heavyweight Champion, Noom, who relinquished this title over the summer to join the army. Noom’s return led to a brawl with The Kovu Brandon, reviving their rivalry. Noom wound up taking Kovu down and made it clear that he fought for respect of the Pakistan Army.

-Hawkberg beat Ahmad Boyka to win the REW Asian championship that was vacated earlier in the show by XMAK. Hawkberg was presented with the title by politician Mr. Naeem Awan, member of the People's Party and president of TAP Youth Sindh, and Mr. Tariq Yunus, owner of Atrium Mall.

-The Kion defeated Yilduz Deliler to retain the REW Ring of Slam World Championship. After the bout, the title belt was presented to the champion by Mr. Rashid Naseem, who is a holder of many Guinness World Records and is fastly approaching his goal of holding 100 world records.

-Jordan Hurr defeated Ahmed Boyka to retain all three of his championships for the third time on the show.

-The main event featured Team XMAK vs Traitorx in a Survivor Series-style elimination match. Hamza was unable to join his Traitorx stablemates due to testing positve for covid prior to the event. Instead, Sahil G made his debut and joined the match, joining and becoming the 6th member of Traitorx. Traitorx won in the end by sticking to their dirty tricks and cheating ways. In the end, Traitorx stood tall with Xekay and Nawab being the survivors from Traitorx and last eliminating XMAK, handing the long reigning REW Asian Champion a loss in his last match.

XMAK tries to recover in the corner while Xekay shouts at him from outside the ring.

Xekay shockingly scores the pinfall over former REW Asian Champion XMAK as his Traitorx stable scored a big win in the main event.

REW has shared with WrestleMap that full match videos from the event will air on their Venus War television program on Venus HD TV. These programs oftentimes make it to both the REW and Venus HD TV YouTube pages so be sure to keep an eye out there so that you can check out these matches when they’re available online.

Up next for REW is another live event in Karachi this coming weekend, a fast turnaround time after having to wait nearly one year between their last two live events in their home city. That event has been titled Ruthless Aggression and is set for this coming Sunday, January 30th, at Karam Villas and Residency. This event is part of the launch party for Karam Villas, a development project headed up by developer Mr. Mulassam.
