Revolution Eastern Wrestling takes over Karachi mall for Pakistani pro wrestling bash of the summer

The Atrium Mall in Karachi, Pakistan was the host to Revolution Eastern Wrestling’s Summer Smash event this past Sunday, August 21st.

Summer Smash had been delayed multiple times earlier in the summer due to the rainy season wreaking havoc on the Karachi area. But once REW was able to get back into the ring, they picked up right where they had left off back in March at the Huge Pakistan Clash, drawing another good sized, supportive crowd.

REW recently REW shared the results from Summwer Smash in this Facebook post. We’ve also been sent a number of photos and videos from the event and we’ll do our best to share as many of those and other details from the matches here in this report.

The card started out with REW Asian Champion Sher Khan making his way out to the ring to celebrate his title defense and victory at a recent event in Nepal. The celebration was cut short when REW’s infamous heel stable Traitorx made their way to the ring. This bad blood would be rekindled during the night’s main event match.

In the night’s second match, The Kovu Brandon defended his REW Eastern Championship against Yilduz Deliler. One clip of Yilduz wailing on Kovu with multiple different kendo sticks has made its way to social media so far. Kovu was able to walk away from the match as the winner, retaining the belt.

Green Cheetah and Lucha Goblin faced off in the next match of the night. Green Cheetah came away the winner there after making Lucha Goblin tap to an armbar.

The fourth match of the night was an REW World Heavyweight Championship Match. The champion, Jordan Hurr, put his belt on the line against Mr. J while Jordan Hurr’s longtime enemy Kovu Brandon served as the special guest referee. Despite Kovu’s presence, Jordan Hurr was able to retain the REW World Heavyweight Championship.

The night’s next bout would see The Kion, after making a fiery entrance, defeat White Cobra to retain the Ring of Slam World Championship. This would continue The Kion’s undefeated streak. Following the match, White Cobra would hit The Cobra Dance to the delight of the fans.

In action next was REW Asian Champion Sher Khan. Khan defended his Asian Championship against Nawab. Khan withstood a beating from the interfering members of Traitorx, which Nawab counts himself as a member of. Despite the uphill battle, the champion retained.

Ahmed Boyka and Yohanna Bhatti would meet next in singles action. This match was thrown out after both wrestlers were attacked by Xekay and Nawab from Traitorx.

Martial arts expert Talha Ali took on Mikael in singles action next. Talha Ali walked out of that match as the winner.

Up next, Jordan Hurr was back in action, this time challenging MHK for the REW Fight or Die Championship. This match was an I Quit match. Jordan Hurr would come out of this match as the new Fight or Die Champion, adding another belt to his growing title collection in REW. We’ve been lucky enough to collect some video footage from this match, including a crazy brawl that went up the stairs of the multi-floor mall. You can check that out below.

In the night’s main event, the team of Traitorx (Sohail Khilari, Talha Ali, and Sahil G) and The Kovu Brandon took on Team XMAK, consisting of XMAK, Ahmed Boyka, Sher Khan and Yilduz Deliler. These two factions have been feuding for months now and in this match, things soon fell apart for the Traitorx team as Kovu Brandon would eventually turn his back on his teammates, hitting his Blackout finisher on all of Traitorx. The match also featured a big top rope dive to the outside of the ring from Sohail Khilari onto Team XMAK. The Kovu Brandon ended up getting attacked by his nemesis Jordan Hurr, leading to the two brawling all the way out of the building. Team XMAK won the match after XMAK hit a top rope frog splash for the victory.

Soon after Summer Smash, REW World Heavyweight Champion Jordan Hurr took to his Facebook page to announce that he had quit REW. We’ll see what that means for REW and their titles moving forward.

Overall, it appears as if Summer Smash was a big success for REW as the crowd at Atrium Mall was big and seemed to be involved in the action. The Pakistani pro wrestling scene continues to grow and seeing where that scene is now, compared to just a couple years ago, indicates a very bright future on the horizon.

Be sure to give REW a follow on Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date with what they have planned next.
