Rancor Fighters returns to action in Kerala with tournament cup event

Kerala, India’s Rancor Fighters returned to action following a long layoff to hold South India’s first ever tournament cup wrestling event. Along with the Rancor Fighters roster, former WWE Superstar Sanjana George was on hand to host the event.

The four wrestler tournament was for the 2023 King of Malabar Cup and took place back on June 18, 2023 at the Karunechi Sreebhadra Auditorium in Uzhavoor, India. The winner of the tournament would go on to get an opportunity to challenge for the Kerala Championship at the upcoming Rancor Fighters event, Desert Storm.

The finals would come down to “The Introvert” Arun Haridas and teen star “The Seventies Sensation” Harley Wagen. Arun defeated Edwin Sanno in the semifinals while Harley Wagen defeated Rex.

In the finals, Harley Wagen would score a pinfall victory over Arun Haridas and will now get a shot at the Kerala Championship at Rancor Fighters “Desert Storm” against reigning champion Vineeth Antony. This is a big win for the teen sensation Harley Wagen who is currently the youngest wrestler in South India at 17 years of age. The United States indie scene has featured teen sensations as of late such as Billie Starkz and Nick Wayne. Now South India has a young phenom of their own in Harley Wagen. Following the tournament, Harley Wagen addressed the crowd on hand.

Rancor Fighters is expected to upload the tournament matches to their YouTube channel in short time, while some match highlights from the Harley Wagen/Rex match have been uploaded to the Rancor Fighters Instagram page.

Congratulations to Harley Wagen on the big win that has come so early in his career. It will be interesting to see if Harley will be able to cash in on his title opportunity and become the next Kerala Champion.
