A look back at the Huge Pakistan Clash, one of Pakistan’s biggest pro wrestling shows yet

Let’s take a look back to late March of this year, March 23rd to be exact. On that date, Karachi, Pakistan was the host to a big outdoor pro wrestling event held by Revolution Eastern Wrestling. Regular readers of WrestleMap are likely familiar with REW, the Pakistani company that seems to always be making moves to expand their brand both in their home country and abroad.

From what we have covered of REW up to this point, the show held by REW on March 23rd may have been their biggest and most successful to date. The show was called the Huge Pakistan Clash, and by all accounts, it was pretty huge. REW management has shared with WrestleMap that an estimated crowd of four to five thousand filled in at Karachi People’s Square for an outdoor show that got a ton of press and TV news coverage.

Up until this point, we haven’t seen any release of the full show results from REW. This is likely because they plan to air much of the event on their Venus War television program that airs on Venus HD TV in Pakistan. However, we’ve been able to piece together some of the match outcomes and we’ll share them with you here, along with some pictures and as much video as we can.

Here’s what we know:

Yilduz Deliler took on Sahil G in a singles match that was won by Yilduz.

In a triple threat match, Yohanna Bhatti put his REW Fight Or Die Title on the line against Sohail Khilari and MHK. MHK would walk out of the match as the new REW Fight Or Die Champion, one of many title changes that happened on the show.

In another title match, Kion Brandon successfully defended the REW Ring of Slam World Heavyweight Championship against White Cobra.

Also on the card, former REW Ring of Slam World Heavyweight Champion Ahmed Boyka put his REW Asian Title on the line against the towering Sher Khan who was making his first appearance with REW after spending time with Pro Wrestling Federation of Pakistan. Sher Khan would go on to win the REW Asian Title and has since defended it internationally in Nepal against Nepali Bro at a Nepal Women’s Wrestling Foundation event with his title defense getting mainstream media coverage in Pakistan.

Jordan Hurr and Kovu Brandon, two of Pakistan and REW’s most established stars and greatest champions, also squared off in two separate matches during the show. In the first match, Jordan Hurr put his REW Eastern Championship on the line and left the match with one less championship belt than he entered after Kovu Brandon apparently cheated to win and became the new REW Eastern Champion. Kovu Brandon would then defend the REW Eastern Championship later on in the show in a lumberjack match against Noor Zai and Nawab.

The second match between the two was the main event of the night for the REW Heavyweight Championship and was Pakistan’s first ever flag match. Jordan would retain in the flag match, ensuring that he will be a double champion moving forward as he now holds the REW World Heavyweight Championship and REW Indian Championship.

The show also featured a six man tag as Team XMAK stepped back in the ring to take on REW’s dominant heel stable Traitorx. This match was a rematch of sorts of the main event from the REW Wrestlemax show that took place earlier this year. That match was a 5 on 5 Survivor Series style elimination match that was said to be XMAK’s last match and was won by the devious Traitorx. However, XMAK made his return to the ring in this match to get his revenge on Xekay and his Traitorx stable. This match pitted XMAK, Ahmed Boyka, and Yohanna Bhatti against Traitorx members Sohail Khilari, Talha Ali and Nawab while Xekay and Sahil G accompanied Traitorx to the ring. This time around, Team XMAK was able to come out on top after Sher Khan came out to help Team XMAK overcome the numbers advantage that Traitorx had at ringside.

What’s next for Revolution Eastern Wrestling? The Karachi-based company hasn’t made any announcements quite yet about any future live shows but they have been sending some wrestlers out to compete internationally as we mentioned earlier. With the big bump in mainstream media coverage that the company is getting in their hometown, it’s quite possible that we could continue to see big events like this one coming from REW in the future.

Be sure to keep an eye on the REW YouTube page and the Venus HDTV YouTube page for video of the Huge Pakistan Clash matches to be released!
