Joey Janela headed to South Korea to challenge for Pro Wrestling Society Championship

Pro Wrestling Society of South Korea announced a big guest for their upcoming September 25th Phoenix Rise show. Former All Elite Wrestling wrestler and one of Game Changer Wrestling’s biggest stars, Joey Janela, will be visiting Seoul to challenge for the PWS Korea Championship.

Janela will challenge the Best in Korea, Jo Kyung Ho. Jo Kyung Ho is a three time and current PWS Korean Champion who trained with Pro Wrestling Zero1 in Japan with Masato Tanaka and is best known for his high impact offense that includes a combination of strikes, innovative power moves and high flying attacks including his swanton bomb finisher. “The Bad Boy” had some very strong words for Jo Kyung Ho following the announcement of the big championship match in a since-deleted Instagram post.

Jo Kyung Ho took to YouTube to reply to the announcement to ask “who the Hell is Joey Janela?” During the video, Jo Kyung Ho is convinced by the GM of Pro Wrestling Society to take on “The Bad Boy” in a hardcore match, Janela’s specialty. But the truth is, Joey Janela is the biggest name American wrestler to head over to South Korea and fight for Pro Wrestling Society to date. This match and the resulting exposure should hopefully get Pro Wrestling Society and Jo Kyung Ho a little bit more recognition amongst independent wrestling fans around the world.

Joey Janela recently returned to the United States after a quick tour of Japan competing for DDT where he won the DDT Extreme Title, an achievement that Jo Kyung Ho is not impressed with. The trip to Seoul for the September 25th match against Jo Kyung Ho will be Janela’s first time wrestling in South Korea.

Jo Kyung Ho has vowed to use the hardcore tactics of his mentor, Masato Tanaka, to beat Janela. This match will be part of what Pro Wrestling Society is calling their biggest event to date in Seoul. Be sure to give Pro Wrestling Society a follow on Instagram  and Facebook to keep up with the latest news surrounding the upcoming Phoenix Rise show set for September 25th in Seoul, South Korea.
