Revolution Eastern Wrestling to feature famous Pakistani actor as special guest referee at upcoming Summer Smash event

Pakistan’s Revolution Eastern Wrestling has announced that they’ll be back in action on July 2nd from the Atrium Mall in Karachi, Pakistan for their event Summer Smash. The event is their first since their super successful Huge Pakistan Clash event that reportedly drew a few thousand fans to People’s Square in Karachi. As of now, there have been some big announcements about talent that has been scheduled for the event. First off, REW has announced that Nepali wrestler Nepali Bro will be making the trip to Karachi to give the event some international flavor.

Even more notably, Pakistani actor Naveed Raza is set to make an appearance at the event as a special guest referee. Naveed Raza is currently one of the lead actors on the popular Pakistani horror drama television program Saaya that airs on Geo Entertainment. Raza will play his character Talal at the event in his role as special guest referee.

Naveed Raza’s involvement will mark the first time that a mainstream television actor will be involved with a Pakistani pro wrestling event. Following the success of The Huge Pakistan Clash, this is a great next step for both REW and the Pakistani pro wrestling scene. Crossing over into mainstream culture is always a goal for big time wrestling promotions, a great example being the regular appearances made by mainstream celebrities at WWE events since the 1980’s. Raza has over 250k followers on Instagram and will undoubtedly at least raise the awareness of his fans and other potential wrestling fans that may have not been aware that there’s a pro wrestling scene in Pakistan. This historic first should end up being a smart move for REW as Naveed Reza will draw some additional attention to Summer Smash at the very least and should help build on their expanding public profile following the success of Huge Pakistan Clash.
