India vs. Pakistan in winner take all double title match set for December in Nepal

The India vs. Pakistan rivalry is headed to the wrestling ring! Pakistan’s Revolution Eastern Wrestling has announced a big title match that will see two of their champions from the traditional rival countries of Pakistan and India settle the score in the ring once and for all.

India’s Gopal Sharma is set to defend his REW World Heavyweight Championship on December 4th, 2021 on neutral ground in Kathmandu, Nepal against Pakistan’s Jordan Hurr, the current REW Eastern Champion. The match will take place from the Nepal Women’s Wrestling Foundation’s training facility.

The bout is scheduled to be a no holds barred, winner take all double championship title match. Gopal Sharma last defended his REW World Heavyweight Championship in Nepal back on April 17th of this year at an REW sponsored event that also took place from the NWWF’s training facility. That event’s original plans had to be altered due to some Covid-19 protocol issues but still proved to be successful in allowing the REW World Championship to be defended on foreign soil, one of the requirements of having a true world championship title in pro wrestling.

At REW’s last event in Nepal, none of the Pakistani wrestlers were able to attend due to the aforementioned Covid-19 issues. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case this time for the December 4th event. In fact, the Pakistani challenger that will be competing for REW in this match is a bit of a surprise. That challenger is Jordan Hurr, one of Pakistan’s first ever pro wrestling champions, a feat he accomplished when wrestling for the Pro Wrestling Federation of Pakistan and defeated international wrestling superstar Rhino, among others, in a ladder match to win that title. The reason that Jordan Hurr wasn’t expected to participate in an REW ring is based on the past few months. Jordan was a free agent, one of the most coveted on the Pakistani pro wrestling scene, but was constantly turning up to cause havoc for REW including attacking the company’s former chairman Wahib Jamil and Fight or Die Champion Xekay at a Karachi restaurant.

At recent tapings for REW’s upcoming Venus War television program, which will be the first Pakistani pro wrestling to be broadcast on television in the country and is set to debut on Venus HD TV this coming Saturday at 3:00 PM Pakistan time, Jordan Hurr made a surprise debut and officially joined the company. While the Venus War tapings have yet to make air, Pakistani press reported live from the set of the tapings, breaking the news that Jordan Hurr had joined the company. Instead of dwelling on the disappointment of one of their big moments being spoiled for their TV audience, REW instead went on the initiative and revealed plans for the big upcoming no holds barred double championship title match. The company has also released a teaser for their weekly Venus War program that will be coming to Pakistani TV channel Venus HD TV which you can view by clicking here.

Can Gopal Sharma hold off one of Pakistan’s first ever pro wrestling champions and retain the title? Will Jordan Hurr capture the REW Heavyweight Title in one of his first few appearances for the company and cement himself near the top of the list of Pakistan’s greatest wrestling champions ever? We’ll have to wait to find out until December in Kathmandu!
