As Covid-19 pushes more and more pro wrestling outdoors, Nepal Ring Wrestling Association takes advantage of country’s beautiful scenery

The Nepal Ring Wrestling Association is getting back to action! Following an extended layoff due to the surge of the delta variant of the Covid-19 virus in the area, the NRWA has started to resume training for vaccinated wrestlers. That announcement was relayed to WrestleMap from sources within the NRWA yesterday and is great news for a region that was hit hard by the virus and it’s accompanying restrictions.

WrestleMap has also learned that the Ring Wrestling association is planning a live event return. That return is scheduled for September 18th. The proposed event has been approved by government officials in Nepal and the date is confirmed. The event will be held outdoors in the midst of the beautiful Himalayan Mountains in the Dolakha area. A source from within the NRWA sent WrestleMap the photo below as a reference point as to what viewers and fans can expect for the atmosphere and view when it comes to match time.

As the novel coronavirus continues to push more events outdoors due to the increased safety that the setting provides, the NRWA has taken advantage of their country’s beautiful natural resources and will look to once again create memorable outdoor pro wrestling scenes.

This will not be the first time that the South Asian pro wrestling company has utilized their country’s beautiful mountain scenery as a backdrop for a pro wrestling event. Readers of WrestleMap may recall that back in May, the NRWA went outdoors to another mountainous region of Nepal for their Nepali New Year’s Day Summer Slam event. That event created a memorable pro wrestling atmosphere as a crowd of nearly 2,000 gathered to watch the action, including an overflow crowd that watched from the mountainside.

Carnage inside of the ring, beauty outside of it. The Yuv takes a rest while Thagu writhes in pain after being slammed into a pile of thumbtacks at Summer Slam. Behind the ring, you can make out the beautiful mountainous terrain and the spectators watching from the mountainside.

Atmosphere is always an important part of a pro wrestling show. The atmosphere that pro wrestling in the middle of the Himalayas will create will be truly memorable and create an interesting contrast to the hard hitting action inside the ring.

Everyone here at WrestleMap is excited for the NRWA to get back to action on September 18th! Stay tuned to the NRWA’s Facebook page for more details on exact location, how to attend the event and the wrestlers that will be scheduled to appear!
