Stephen Amell would like to return to the wrestling ring as a heel

Stephen Amell was in Dubai for Pop Con at Expo City over the weekend. During a question and answer section on Sunday, November 13 as part of an Arrowverse panel with Katie Cassidy, the former Bullet Club member was asked about pro wrestling.

More specifically, Amell was asked whether or not he’ll ever return to the pro wrestling ring. Amell responded that he probably would and that he would love to tie it into promotion for the pro wrestling television series Heels that Amell currently stars in that airs on Starz and is set to debut its second season at some point in the near future. As a response to whether or not he’ll return to the wrestling ring outside of the Heels series, Amell replied:

“Yeah, probably. Probably. I want to do something around the promotion of season two. Like I actually tried to do with the promotion of season four of Arrow. Umm…if that’s an actual match, if its just an angle, something on screen, whatever it is. Just so long as I get to be a bad guy, which I think will be in keeping with the promotion of Heels.”

With Heels season two likely to be coming soon, wrestling fans could be expecting an appearance from Stephen Amell on their screens. Where that could be remains to be seen.

While Amell has made appearances for both WWE and AEW in the past, Cody Rhodes, who is believed to be Amell’s closest friend in the pro wrestling business, has jumped ship from AEW to WWE since Amell’s last appearance with All Elite Wrestling. Does that mean we could be seeing Stephen Amell on WWE television in the near future? Or perhaps a strong relationship was built with AEW management surrounding Amell’s last appearance with the company. Time will tell if Amell’s wishes for helping to promote the new season of Heels comes true.
