Despite worsening pandemic situation, Nepal Ring Wrestling Association still looking for ways to entertain fans

Although the Nepal Ring Wrestling Association’s future plans are on indefinite hold due to a worsening Covid-19 situation in the country, the South Asian wrestling association is still focused on finding ways to entertain their fans.

Without the ability to hold live events, the NRWA has decided on one other way to bring content to the fans to enjoy safely with the launch of their YouTube page. As of now, the NRWA has been releasing weekly matches from their most recent event, the hugely successful Summer Slam that was held on Nepali New Year’s Day back in April. In a recent discussion with the NRWA’s General Secretary Subarna Shrestha, that event’s estimated attendance was given at around 3,000, making it one of the most attended wrestling events during the pandemic-era that we have encountered here at WrestleMap. The crowd itself looks great on film and they were lively throughout the event. That mixed with the exciting wrestling action and professional production quality makes for a great viewing experience.

So far, the NRWA has released one full match from the event, the lightweight showdown between X-Hero and CJ World. A second full match, the middleweight collision between Shine and David is expected to be released today if the NRWA continues on the pattern of releasing a trailer and a full match the next day as they did with the lightweight bout.

To catch the next match releases as they happen, be sure to subscribe to the NRWA’s YouTube page by clicking the subscribe button below.

Everyone here at WrestleMap wishes the wrestlers, staff and fans of the Nepal Ring Wrestling Association well and hopes they are able to return to the ring as soon as safely possible!
